Changes in the Illinois Dental Practice Act allows dental assistants to perform Coronal Polishing only when certified by an approved CE sponsor. The course will provide dental assistants with the proper educational requirements to perform Coronal Polishing.
The course will include the study of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and dental emergencies followed by a written exam. Upon successful completion of the written exam, students will begin the clinical instruction. The clinical instruction will be held at a local dental office. Information about the clinical portion will be given during the lecture.
The course fee covers the lecture and clinical portions. The clinical instruction on Coronal Polishing will include work performed on other participants. Dental assistant students must be 18 years old and have been working as a dental assistant for at least 1,000 hours, about six months full time. Upon successful completion of the lecture and clinical portions, participants will receive a certificate to perform Coronal Polishing.
The seminar will be held from 10:00am to 5:00pm CT with an hour break.
Registration fees may be transferred to another course date if written notification is received at least seven (7) days prior to the scheduled course date. Due to limited class size, we are unable to issue refunds.
