About IDI

Illinois Dental Institute

For the past 23 years, the Illinois Dental Institute has been committed to providing the most comprehensive dental trainings available in the state of Illinois.

In 1998 the state of Illinois revised the Dental Practice Act to allow dental assistants to perform certain procedures that were previously limited to Dentists or Hygienists. Nancy Banks, a licensed hygienist, submitted a lecture and clinical training curriculum for Coronal Polishing and Pit and Fissure Sealants to the State Department of Professional Regulations and her newly-formed company, the Illinois Dental Institute (IDI), was granted the first-ever license for continuing education in the state.

Ms. Banks has continually enhanced and improved her seminars, training her students far beyond the state requirements, creating a thorough understanding of oral anatomy and terminology.

The Illinois Dental Institute holds seminars in the Chicagoland area and elsewhere throughout the state. For groups of five or more dental assistants, in-office training and certification can also be scheduled. Evening and weekend seminars are available.
